Van 25 tot 27 januari vindt in Brussel de jaarlijkse "Computers, Privacy and Data Protection" conferentie plaats. Boeiend, maar betalend. Daarom organiseren EDRi, de VUB en de FSUL de dag daarvoor (dinsdag 24 januari) een gratis BarCamp voor privacy activisten.

"The Privacy-Camp.eu is an event in Brussels on privacy and data protection challenges and possibilities in Europe, launched by European Digital Rights (EDRi), the Law, Science, Technology and Society research group at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB-LSTS) and the Facultés universitaires Saint-Louis (FUSL). This event is a free-to-attend pre-conference of Computers, Privacy & Data Protection, 25 26 27 January 2012."

Staan al op de agenda: een sessie rond "campaign tactics for privacy activists" (Privacy International), een workshop met Edri rond "Data Protection Framework Review" en suggesties rond "conflicts between (medical) research and privacy/data protection/fundamental rights" en "Recording Everything: Digital Storage as an Enabler of Authoritarian Governments".
